Raab Goodwin Center helps North Carolina Holocaust Education

Esther Raab Holocaust Museum and Goodwin Education Center donate much needed books to new Holocaust Resource Center in North Carolina

Our Raab/Goodwin Director, Helen Kirschbaum, recently connected with a NC retired teacher, Lee Holder, who started the only Holocaust Resource Center in the state of North Carolina a few weeks ago, The Gizella Gross Abramson Resource Center for Holocaust and Civil Rights Education.

Discovering that the state had also passed a law requiring Holocaust Education, but that there was no funding for a program to provide needed materials, Helen connected Mr. Holder to the publisher of Dear Esther, our local story of Holocaust survivor Esther Raab, who also has a play, Dear Esther, performed in schools to teach about the Holocaust and how it translates today into tolerance and inclusion.

Also adding to the resource center, graciously, hundreds of books, donated by Ruth and Alan Respler, were sent to the NC Gizella Gross Abramson Resource Center to be utilized in their Holocaust Education programming.
